Data collection

Von Frey has no user accounts, advertising, analytics, tracking, third-party software development kits, or network service. The publisher does not collect or receive personal data, research-session data, persistent device identifiers, location, diagnostics, or usage information through the app.

On-device data

The app creates session state, recovery backups, audit logs, and CSV exports locally in its app container. When iOS file sharing is enabled, the device owner can view and manage exported files through the Files app.

Animal labels in version 1.0.0 are generated numbers rather than names. Operators remain responsible for avoiding personal or confidential information in filenames and in any external system where exported files are stored.

Sharing

The app does not transmit data automatically. It shares files only when the operator chooses the iOS share sheet or moves a file through a configured file provider. Separately, iOS may include app data in iCloud or computer backups according to the device owner’s settings. The publisher does not receive those backups. Selected sharing destinations and backup services are governed by their providers’ privacy practices.

Retention and deletion

Starting a new session removes the current session and recovery backups but preserves earlier CSV exports and audit logs. The device owner can delete those files in Files. Removing the app deletes locally stored app data from the device, subject to the device owner’s backups and any copies they previously exported.

Children

Von Frey is a laboratory research tool and is not directed to children. The app does not knowingly collect data from anyone.

Changes to this policy

If the app’s data practices change, this policy and the App Store privacy disclosure will be updated before the changed version is released. The effective date above identifies the current policy version.
